What you'll practise

  1. Show growth as percentages Hands-on
  2. Bold the total row Hands-on
  3. Italicise a note Hands-on
  4. Highlight the fall Hands-on

Show growth as percentages

Growth is stored as decimals such as 0.12. The % format shows it as 12%, without changing the value.

Select C2:C5, then click % on the toolbar.

Bold the total row

A total row should stand out from the rows above.

Select A5:C5, then click B on the toolbar.

Italicise a note

Notes and sources are often in italics, so they don't compete with the data.

Select A6, then click I on the toolbar.

Highlight the fall

Draw attention to the one region that shrank.

Select C3, then click Fill on the toolbar.

Try it in a real spreadsheet

Every step checks your answer instantly and tells you exactly what to fix.
