What you'll practise

  1. Who sold the most?
  2. Who came second?
  3. Who sold the least?
  4. The same with XLOOKUP

Who sold the most?

MAX gives the best number; INDEX and MATCH turn it into a name.

In cell D2, return the rep (A2:A6) whose sales match MAX(B2:B6).

Who came second?

In cell D2, return the rep whose sales match LARGE(B2:B6,2).

Who sold the least?

In cell D2, return the rep with the lowest sales, using MIN.

The same with XLOOKUP

In cell D2, return the top rep with XLOOKUP: look up MAX(B2:B6) in B2:B6 and return A2:A6.

Try it in a real spreadsheet

Every step checks your answer instantly and tells you exactly what to fix.
